Roundup of the week's news
(1) The pope says something incoherent about sex/gender. Apparently he needs to defend heterosexuality, but not to the extent of having sex with a girl.
(2) Patrick Wolf is trying to raise £100,000 from fans to finance the release of his new album, which he's already recorded.
(3) Researchers find headbanging may cause head and neck injuries particularly at rates of over 130 bpm: "songs, such as Spinal Tap's Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight and Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe, could be combined with a 120 degree range of neck movement and theoretically lead to a high risk of neck injury (NIC score of 15m2/s2). This exceeds a proposed limit for human tolerance."
(4) Hilary Duff is releasing a Greatest Hits album, including probably that one that's got a bit of guitar on it, um was there one that sounded a bit Indian or was that the same as the one with guitar on it, and um presumably her most recent UK hit, With Love, which reached number 29 in March 2007.
(5) The Dutch have invented a font with holes in it to save on ink.
(6) Girls' toys encourage heterosexuality but boys' toys do not, according to someone at Libération.

You can tell it's my last day of work before the holidays?
