Don't be mean

I think my CD player has officially died. Also Scotmid did not have any eggs at all today. And as promised, I never went to any other shops. I did watch a little bit of Buffy, and a very entertaining episode of the US Office, which my stupid PVR chopped the end off of, so I now won't know if Dwight had uncurable brain damage.

I also saw The Abominable Dr Phibes (pronounced like Fights but with a B) yesterday, which looked very lovely, and had a pretty decent low-budget cast (Vincent Price, Joseph Cotton, Peter Jeffrey), and ended with Somewhere Over The Rainbow, which is obviously ideal for any mad serial killer story. At the same time, I was a little underwhelmed; all a bit too about the visuals and the stylisation (a sequence of murders, musical interludes, and comical police scenes). It does have a ballroom complete with rising organ. (Are a biology organ and a musical organ so called because both contain a lot of pipes?) Still, probably worth checking out for fans of the icky.

Christmas themed quiz at the usual place tonight. Oh joy, and indeed hosannah, on high or whatever. I now know that Polish people have carp for their Christmas dinner, which they keep alive in their baths so they can be super-fresh for the day. I also know that Christmas is on December 25th. Mostly.

Pete Doherty and Kate Moss kill five prostitutes and abandon their naked bodies in East Anglia. Yes, according to the Daily Mail, it's all Pete and Kate's fault what's happening in Ipswich.
