Hello everyone.
I've briefly introduced myself before, under a different screen name (renegade573). I've begun a new journal, and the reasons are completely unrelated to the NanoWrimo project.
I'd like to tell you about my story, and hear what you all have to say about it. Everyone seems to excited to write, and read, and talk, and thus far, this, the liveliness of this community has shown itself to be very lively, respectful, and a fantastic atmosphere to breed creativity.

My novel, Eromenos, is the story of a young Greek man named Markos.
Markos is the son of a soldier of moderate rank in the Ancient Grecian Army, and originally lived with his family (of moderate rank) in their villa located in the country surrounding the city of Athens. Markos aspires to be a scholar, and for this (and many other reasons), Markos is unable to obtain the respect and love of his father. Days after a family dispute, and his father's departure, Markos is seized by the Grecian Army without explanation or excuse, and is illegally sold into slavery to a brutal, but wealthy and powerful man (and his family) in the city.
Markos is determined to find his father, whom he is certain will save him from this terrible mistake. However, upon learning that his father had a hand in the plot and used his own son to pay off debts which he owed to some powerful Athenian statesman, and also enduring the brutal physical and sexual abuse from his new master, Markos tries killing himself, only to be rescued and healed by a beautiful, educated, and attractive man with grey eyes named Leandros.
Leandros uses his power, and finances, to free Markos from the financial and sexual enslavement of Telamon. He uses his resources to build Markos a new identity and career, takes him as his eromenos, his young male counterpart, whom he mentors academically, politically, socially, financially, emotionally, and sexually. Markos becomes a respected citizen of Athens, protected and made holy by the ancient pedarastic custom.
Leandros becomes Markos' lover, his erastes, father, and teacher. They share ten years of happiness, prosperity, and love. Markos builds a fantastic and fulfilling career as a student, athlete, and rising politician under the mentorship and protection of the only man he's been able to love and trust without fearing vulnerability.
That is, until the lovers face adversity in the forces of jealousy, pride, and power. An embittered politician, whose pride was wounded by the loss of his attractive, young boy slave, a jealous wife, threatened by the connection between Leandros and Markos, and a banished Grecian soldier, who sees financial gain in the secrets of his son, all try to use their knowledge of Markos' true identity, and the lovers' sexual connection and acts (which, even in the days of Ancient Greece, were considered dishonorable and taboo) to obtain power and wealth. They scheme and plot in shadows and secrecy to try take down the greatest love story of the Ancient Mediterranean.
Markos' is tricked, and learns of plots against his life made by his own lover. Although his heart refuses to believe it, Markos has grown out of the naive mind of a youth, and fully understands the power of politics. Markos kills his lover, and upon learning of Leandros' innocence, begins a satisfying spree of revenge, made possible only by his growing political influence, Greek education, and inherited wealth, all of which manifested through the help of the very figures which are trying to take him down.
It is a story of love and tragedy, power and revenge. But more importantly, it is a story of the maturation of a young man's mind and heart.
