The Suit
So, I've refrained from posting anything about what has come out since Comic Con because I saw how pissed many of you were and still are right now. But......with the exception of the very annoying reveal of Nois for 18 episodes and Chloe becoming Watchtower full time, I have to say that I am genuinely intrigued and interested about the new season.
Mainly this is because of Callum Blue as ZOD, and the new outfit for Clark. Now, MANY people have been ripping this outfit because it's not the Superman suit and it will take away from the moment that he comes out as Superman (I'm not going to get into the argument that they are just directing our attention away from the issues that bother us..I think they are just clueless and this is what they wanted to do and it's just a very very good coincidence that they had this in their back pocket after Failsday). I don't feel that it will take away from the moment, and I really kind of like this direction. Apparently, from rumors that are spreading, the suit is actually given to him by Jor-El during his training at the Fortress. The Symbol is there because it is going to kind of cloud people's minds and perception of who he is, so that they won't actually recognize him.
Now, I know that many have wondered, "How in the hell are they going to explain the fact that NOBODY has any idea that it's Clark when he becomes Superman?" I was of the mind that they would have a massive mind wipe set off by the Fortress, but if this is true, then, IMO, it is actually a very clever way of dealing with this issue. It gives the shield even MORE significance to Superman. If Clark were to combine this with moving so fast that most of the time people don't see him, and that if he isn't moving so fast that he doesn't allow any pictures to actually get a clear look at his face, then I think it will effectively answer the question as it concerns NOIS, and others that have crossed paths with him in Smallville and Metropolis. As for Lex, Chloe and the rest...they will just know the truth from the start. Lex knowing allows his hatred to be more about Clark's betrayal (with regards to not confiding in him) as he sees it, then the fact that he's just an alien. Of course the public reason for this hatred will be because he doesn't trust the alien, but the REAL reason would be because Lex is just incredibly hurt and angry, and since he's already half psychotic, it breaks him to the point that he focuses only on destroying him.
Anyhoo...Yeah, I like the suit and if this rumor is correct then I really like how they are going to handle the recognition factor. I'm not happy about Nois being in 18 episodes, but it is what it is and unfortunately I'm more a fanboy then a shipper so I can get around it. I'm going to hope that even though they are marginalizing Chloe, that they give her a great exit from the show. Because there is no chance in hell that Allison will sign on for a season 10, at least a full season.
