SMALLVILLE'S RENEWAL
So, I thought I would post my thoughts on the renewal. I'm kind of mixed. I was really hoping that they would wind the show up this year because it really needs to have it's endgame date set (ala BSG and LOST). BUT, I was enjoying the beginning of the season this year. As you know Clark is my favorite character, above all others I want him to be serviced properly. I'm not happy with what they've done to Chloe, it makes no sense, and just shits on the fans. I can't stand NOIS, but I've managed to just let it go and enjoy Clark acting more like Superman.
Then Lana showed up. And, all hell broke loose. And, ALL the development that was achieved in the first 10 episodes was just shot to shit by the end of her arc. Because of this I was really worried I wasn't going to get a proper ending to the series. I felt that they were stalling the characters because they were hoping to get a ninth season. I was worried that they weren't going to get it, because Tom would say no (and my GOD they must have backed up the truck for him to stay on for another year. Here's hoping he got them to promise a budget increase) and then we would get some rushed ending to the series.
Because, no matter what you feel about the show, it deserves a proper send off. Whether we like the way they end it or not.
