Priorities

Dec 08, 2007 14:35

It's 2:30 and I've only been up for an hour so far. (Trucy was getting hungry waiting for me to make lunch. Sorry Tru!) What a great way to start a Saturday...

Getting back to work hit me harder than I thought it would--and I took off early from the office on Friday, even. I wonder if I'm getting old.

It's not the workload that's overwhelming me (if you're reading this, Gavin, I'm not complaining!). It's trying to juggle that, parenting, and personal interests outside of those other two categories. I really wonder if I'm getting that balance down, or if I need to reprioritize.

Thinking of some of you, and some events that happened this week, I'm reminded of why I got interested in law in the first place. The work, the different situations and the the urgency of each case pulls you in; direct or indirectly, it's someone's life at stake. And ultimately, it's the duty of both the prosecution or defense to uncover the truth of the matter... right?

The truth has been pretty heavy lately. I'm glad the holidays are coming up soon.

Maya, if you and Pearls want to get your Christmas shopping done in time, you should come over a few days early and sleep over. I'll take the couch this time.

((OOC: Phoenix and Trucy's apartment layout.))

christmas, law stuff, kristoph gavin, investigation, trucy, parenting, pearl fey, maya fey
