Summary: What happens when worlds collide between hunters? A TAPS member goes missing during an investigation, and it will take Sam and Dean's expertise to bring him back.
Previous Parts Jason and Grant spent a long five minutes examining the front door, trying to figure out what was making it stick, and then doing everything to try to pry it open again. Their methods failed, some unseen force keeping the doors tight. It seemed like even air could not escape the seal.
"What the fetch?" Grant muttered again, stepping away from the door.
"Don't bother," Sam told him. "There's no way to get out. This thing is powerful enough to keep all of us trapped in here."
"Thing?" Jason repeated. He paced and then wound up and kicked the door in anger, the sound reverberating through the room and making everyone slightly uncomfortable. "Someone is toying with us."
"Well, that someone happens to be dead," Dean said.
"You're saying that an entity has enough strength to seal all of the doors?" Kris questioned.
"And them some," Dean said. "You saw it take your friend."
"We saw something," Dustin said. "Something that can't happen."
"People disappear a lot more often than you'd think," Sam told them all somberly. "My brother and I have personally seen it more than once."
"If we're smart and lucky… very lucky," Dean said again, hating the way it sounded like a slim chance, "we'll get him back before anything can happen. But we need to all be on the same page here."
"I'm still having a hard time believing this," Grant admitted. "It's too surreal."
"Steve wouldn't play around," Tango said. "Not about this."
Grant sighed and ran a hand over his head. "I know he wouldn't. I know Steve. That doesn't change the fact that… as far as paranormal activity goes, this is off the charts," he said. "I mean, we are talking full-blown -- tangibility. Really malevolent spirits here. We don't even see this kind of strength with an inhuman haunting."
"These are rare circumstances," Sam said. "Your friend could be in real danger."
"We need to find a way to shut it down, and fast," Dean said.
"The batteries," Kris said suddenly, turning to her fellow investigators. "Spirits drain the batteries from our equipment all the time. Turn off everything nonessential," she said, going to the laptop and starting to shut down the software.
"Wait," Brain protested. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get killer evidence."
"Not at this cost," Jason immediately rebuked the idea. "Take it all down." He started pulling cables, then slowed down and stopped, letting Kris and Brian continue to shut off the equipment at the table. "This isn't going to kill it, though."
"How do you kill a ghost?" Dustin mused.
"Exorcism, maybe," Grant suggested. "Or just push it to the other side. Something is keeping it here."
"Smart man," Dean said. "Where would you keep a corpse?"
"In this building? Could be almost anywhere," Tango said. "It was overflowing with dead bodies, particularly the tunnel, but I would start with where Steve disappeared."
"We can go into groups," Jason decided. "But absolutely no splitting up, and no leaving each other's sight. Hold hands if you have to. We're not losing anyone else."
