Bram Stokers Dracula Or Interview With The Vampire Or John Carpenters Vampires Or Even Queen Of The Damned
These Are Only A Few Examples Of Vampire Fiction Done Right

None Of The Vampires Portrayed In Those Works Of Fiction Resemble Those Mirror Balls Often Found In The Cramped Spaces Muggles Choose To Dance In While Listening To Deafening Loud Music

The point isn't how accurate the portrayal of vampires are. The point is the story. And besides, muggles think vampires are fictional, so they're interpretation, to them, could be correct. Twilight is an awesome story, and the way vampires are portrayed is an interesting interpretation.
