I have enjoyed the recent bouts of snow, particularly the one last Tuesday (late afternoon/early eve), where I sat outside at uni with some friends and we let it fall softly on us. Perhaps others viewing us from within the building felt we were mad, but I certainly did not! A Canadian PhD student had never seen snow before, and people were commenting on the intensity if it, but I didn’t think it was a huge amount really - a pleasant amount, enjoyable to watch (although watching caused it to go in my eyes!). It settled nicely on the tables (and on us) but unfortunately I haven’t seen any snow lie for long. It looked nice when it landed on people’s dark-coloured coats.
In fact, I’ve been sitting outside frequently at uni lately, it’s rather cold, but refreshing. I have seen the odd bit of snow here and there but there has also been a lot of winter sun (damn my photophobia, which makes this uncomfortable!). I am still holding out for some snow to lie properly soon!
