What fandom did you start in?
Like... ever? Let's see, does "borrowing" my best friend's Queen's Own newsletter count? :D If we're talking online, then Babylon 5. Found the newsgroup in '96, saw the announcement for the Marcus Cole Estrogen Brigade and sailed happily down that ol' slippery slope from there.
What is your deepest darkest fic-writing secret?
I constantly fight the urge to make all my characters doze off *cough* Okay, so that's not so secret... erm. How about, I amuse myself WAY more than anyone else. I laugh at myself, I make myself cry, I read lines out loud. But somehow, the porn is always hotter in my head than it ever looks on paper.
Do you have any quirks/habits in your writing?
Gestures. I break dialogue with action a lot, make the characters fiddle with their food, or clothes, or whatever. In Reaper Boy, I made Justin smoke like a CHIMNEY, he lit up during practically every conversation.
Sometimes people tell me my fic reads like they're watching something happen and that makes, like, buttloads of sense because that's how I feel when I'm writing it. Like I'm stalking around the loft, or a motel room, or wherever with a video camera and a wee bit of telepathy.
Do you have any fanfiction petpeeves?
Epithets. THEY HAVE NAMES, PEOPLE. I can only take so much "older/younger brother," "brown-haired ad executive," etc., before I want to throttle the author stop reading.
Do you have an OTP?
Yes and no. I usually have a favored pairing that I believe "belong" together on some level (non-exhaustive list: Brian and Justin, Clark and Lex, Bobby and Darien, John and Rodney BOTH COUPLES AHAHAHAHAHA, Sam and Dean, Jensen and Jared) but I happily read and sometimes write the characters with other people, too. Also, I kinda like being "sold" on alternate pairings, where someone writes them so well it hits me right there and I admit, okay, yeah, it could've gone that way, too.
If you could get someone to write a fic for you right now, who would it be?
... uh. See, I always fall down at this point of a meme, where I gotta name people. But you know what? ... hahahahah fine I WANT NEIL GAIMAN TO WRITE ME FIC. *smugly crosses arms*
