I Dreamed a Dream by Susan Boyle

<---- This is another  picture of the sensational Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle's optimism and believing in herself without a taint of arrogance in her ability to sing came through from her heart and touched everyone's soul. She personifies the Charlie Buckets of the Willy Wonka Factory that believes in the goodness of people with the childlike  awe and wonder of the world.
Susan successfully showed the vain and prejudice facades of the people in the audience and the judges of the show without malice.

If we are to look for HOPE and CHANGE in our lives and society, we dont need an Obama to do it for us.
Consider Susan Boyle's  outlook in life in her statement below.  We should have a little Susan in us everyday.

"I expected people to be a wee bit cynical," she says. "But I decided to win them round. That is what you do. They didn't know what to expect. Before Britain's Got Talent, I had never had a proper chance. It's as simple as that. You just have to keep going and take one step at a time and one day you will make it. You just don't give up."

Susan Boyle also reminds me of my favorite quote from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
"People are like stained glass windows, they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when darkness sets in, their true beauty is only seen if there is a light within."

Susan Boyle grew up with a learning disability that made her classmates look down on her.  She was not graced with a willowy and ethereal look but God must have looked down and saw the purity of her heart so He gave her the gift to sing and to touch lives by looking inward in our souls.   Many people like me have felt the touch of God in her voice and have seen the grace of God in her looks.
Susan Boyle is truly beautiful without and within.

I Dreamed A Dream lyrics

There was a time, when men were kind And their voices were soft And their words were inviting There was a time, when love was blind And the world was a song And the song was exciting There was a time it all went wrong I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high and life worth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving Then I was young and unafraid And dreams were made and used and wasted There was no ransom to be paid No song unsung, no wine untasted But the tigers come at night With their voices soft as thunder As they turn your hope apart As they turn your dreams to shame He slept a summer by my side He filled my dreams with endless wonder He took my childhood in his stride But he was gone when autumn came And still I dream he'd come to me That we would live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather I had a dream my life would be So different from the hell I'm living So different now from what it seemed Now life has killed the dream I dreamed
