Fuck, I hate the girls right now. Not that I particularly like them at the best of times, but still...

I'm so glad Gus has his dad and Dus!

Thank you. What's scary is that this seems a not unlikely scenario to me.

But yes, Gus has his Dad and Dus. *g*

I guess you as the writer on this one. Yeah me. Really can I kick Mel and Linds around a bit. How sanctimonious of them to forbid Gus to bring anyone home. I love how you interwove Justin's story with what was happening to Gus. Gus is so lucky to have his Dads ready to help guide him.
Great job.

Thank you. I can totally imagine them behaving this way. I mean, aside from Mel's immense resentment of Brian, so that you know her immediate reaction is going to be "I told you he'd grow up just like his father" ... I think back to how they were when Emmett was living with them.

They wouldn't let him, a grown man, bring anyone home. So you can bet that they wouldn't be any more lenient with Gus.

Thank you for such a great preview of the future. This made me detest Mel and Lindsay even more. They are both so petty, hypocritical and have no interest in truly being parents to Gus. I'm so happy that Gus can turn to Brian and Justin for support.

Yes ... and the worst is that I absolutely believe that this would be typical of how they'd behave.

Thank you. I truly appreciate it.

I'll be travelling (mainly for work) for the next few weeks, so I may not have much time to write. But I shall certainly try and have something in the not too distant future.

I recently read a LJ commentator asking if there was anything more to be said about Brian and Justin. I think I will go back and make the comment "please read Wren's work because she nails it every time, Wren provides a deeper layer and connects on many emotional levels than QAF writers could have ever imagined"

The level of selfishness displayed by Lindsay is astounding. Mel is just a nutter but Lindsay professes to be a nurturing earth mother type soul. I understand in principle trying to steer hormonal teens through safe and acceptable sex but to describe your child's lover as a trick and a possible threat to his sister is guaranteed to drive them into their arms and away from yours.
Dumb selfish bitches no wonder Gus runs to his dad's

Chris, what a lovely thing to say. Thank you.

Yes ... ITA about Lindsay. The problem is that I can totally imagine her behaving in this way.

Was it in canon, or in a fic, that someone referred to Lindsay as having "a passive aggressive streak a mile wide"? Actually, it sounds like something Cael might have written. In any case, I think it describes her perfectly.

Especially when it comes to anything to do with Brian.
