I love Brian and Justin so much in this chapter -- particularly Brian's subtle attention to Dan as they move back into the house, and the explanation/Justin's recognition of the window's symbolism. Beautiful. :)
Thank you. Brian, as I see him, is very attentive to people - and the people he likes he's extremely protective of, in all sorts of ways. Confronted with someone like Dan, with whom he recognises a reluctant kinship, I can totally see him protecting Dan's pride, because that's what he'd want for himself.
If that makes sense.
As for Justin ... yes. Yes, his perceptiveness and intuition are different from Brian's, but just as finely tuned.
It's because of things that I was going to put into this chapter (and then decided to leave till later) which spring from some stuff that hasn't happened yet in Reverb.
Juggling the two is providing a bit of a challenge. *g*

Yes...and to do them justice.
I believe I already told you but I like the idea of a house waiting for it´s right inhabitants.
And I love the relationship Brian and Ted have built over the years....true friendship. I love that. And I always believed Brian needs a really good friend who does not judge him for what he is on a honest base. Ted seems to be that friend, now.
For me, the growing friendship between Ted and Brian was one of the few bright spots in S4 and S5. The scene where Ted is the only one that Brian has around to share the news that he's got his six months all clear on the cancer nearly broke my heart.
It's funny about the window, because until I needed to keep Justin occupied while the other two were slowly making their way upstairs I didn't know it was going to happen, but as soon as I started to write it, it seemed so obviously right.

As for the rest of the reactions ... mmm, well. There are some upheavals in store, I think.
Glad you're enjoying. I really appreciate it that you haven't given up on this since it's been so long since it was updated. :)
