1) Art
I love art, its just so much fun and so expressive. Art is actually one of the reasons that I like music (I like music usually for 1 of 3 reasons... it inspires me and is good to paint to, I can dance to it, or its on a soundtrack I like). I haven't actually been doing alot of art just for myself lately. The last couple years its been mostly schoolwork, although I do have a painting that I'm working on right now for Bee. I just need to put on the finishing touches.
2) Education/librarian/books
School sucks, why do I want to be a teacher again... sigh, although it's different when you're the teacher, and I'm trying to make classes fun and not boring. Librarian is my fall back gig if I decide I can't handle being a teacher (which I will decide after I do my internship next year).
And I just plain love books, have since the third grade when I really learned to read. Before that I actually had alot of trouble reading and it would take me forever. But in third grade we had a competition that ran the whole year to see who could read the most books. I took home big chapter books (or what were "big chapter books" to me at the time) and my mom noticed that I couldn't even get through a page, so she made me return the book to the library and read the Dr.Seuss books we had lying around the house... this ticked me off to no end because I felt these were baby books... but I read them all, and began to read other short books at the library and it just expanded from there... So that's how I learned to read from my mom and Dr.Seuss.
3) What's your favourite thing about Buffy/Repo?
First off Joss Whedon is my hero. Pretty much anything he touches is golden. Have you seen Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog (if not check out my earlier entries.) Buffy was about a high school girl fighting the supernatural and it was a leader among tv shows.
Repo is just so freaking awesome, it's so surreal and yet gritty.
Also note that both Buffy and Repo have great soundtracks (and for Buffy I don't just mean the musical but the whole series). They both spark my imagination and bring themes of violence, love and the just plain strange.
4) What's your favourite anime?
OMG! How am I supposed to answer this? I guess I have to say that right now it's Bleach, although I have to give nods to some classics like Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, Digimon, Naruto (newer and not quite old enough to be a classic), Trigun, and no doubt there are others I am forgetting and some on my wish list that I have yet to see.
5) Where did wren_black come from?
It's actually the name of a character in the Honour Among Thieves series that was started with the rest of The4 (Bee, Rae and Azi) back in high school. We each created characters which were at least a bit based upon ourselves, and Wren Black was mine. The series is about a group of young high school teachers who are actually genetically and magically gifted international jewel theives who end up cursed and travelling through time looking for magical relics. It's a great story and I hope one day we finish it. We actually have the majority of it planned, and have for years.
