So, for those of you who still read livejournal, and don't already know, Bryan and I bought a new house. And, in one week, we will be living in it :D FINALLY!!
It's been a lot of work packing this place. We're not even close to done, but we have a while before we need to have all of our stuff out of here. First, we need the big stuff. Appliances, beds, dressers, book shelves, couch and chairs, etc. The stuff that won't be moved in our car, or a friend's pick up. For that, we've rented a cube truck. There was some issue around that, being that U-Haul apparently is completely booked for two weeks after our move date -_- I've only been trying to go through the rental process online for over a week. They have the shittiest website, which crashes half the time, and the other half, just decides it's not going to work. So, we've ended up with Discount (which, btw, is not a discount! $150!!!).
I suppose, most people would feel sad moving from one house to another. I never have. And I don't this time. I won't miss living here. I won't lie, there are certain appeals to this house. It's a couple minutes walk from the bus terminal. Three blocks from the mall. Very convenient, when you don't drive on your own. And, before the kids, that was fine. Perfect for us. But now? Our neighbours are loud. There's people walking home from the bar at night, which, although they don't bother me (I learned to sleep through constant fire alarms in residence, I can sleep through anything if I have to), they wake up the kids. The kids can't play in the back yard, because we have no fence, and people just blow through the alley without a care. We actually had to ask our neighbour if she could watch out when the kids are outside, because she's just as bad for tearing through there.
So, where are we moving to? 53 Cambridge Place. Good ol' East End :D Three bedroom (Yaaay! The kids each have their own room!), two bathroom, three floor split level. Not a massive kitchen, but there's a dishwasher, and room to add more counter if we choose to. Bryan wants to make me a butcher's block counter top. Like, the entire counter top. Which I am extremely excited about! Honestly, I'm just excited about everything. Fenced in back yard, with a back deck, and a massive shed. Just needs a gate, and it's completely enclosed. Finished basement with a rec room, washroom, storage, and laundry room. On the main floor is the kitchen, with a living room, and more than enough room for our table, so we can actually eat meals together around it (once we get chairs) instead of on the couch. Upstairs are the three bedrooms, and the washroom. And there are closets in the house!! Like, every bedroom has their own closes (OMFG!!!), and there's a big linen closet upstairs, and a big storage closet in the basement, and a closet on the main floor. I'm not even going to know what to do with so many damn closets!!
Anna's already been placed on a new bus route. I have to call the school and change our address when they open again for the year, on August 28th. I have to change our addresses on our Health Cards, our Licences, with the doctor's office. Ugh, paper work.
So much to do still!! But I'm so excited :D
