What is this Place Called and Where is it?: Home to someone. It's miles from anything else.
Genre of Story: Short story - something dark, not necessarily horror, but tormented.
Describe the Place in Your Own Words: A large house with an old history, empty now and left to the last in the family. Everything has been stripped out, there are no memories left of who had lived there, but the occupant wouldn't recognise them anyway. He/she was raised elsewhere and has only returned to the old family home because they have no where else to go. It's a lonely place far from anywhere and the bare rooms only make it seem lonelier.
What Happens at this Place in the Story?: The occupant goes slowly, quietly mad, the house warping in their mind until it's a maze, a prison they can't escape from.
What's a Day Like Here? Silent. The slightest noise sounds immense in the quiet. There are only the bare bones of amenities, but it's not the simple life that bothers them. It's the acres of space inside an out, hollow and empty.
Does this place have rodents or bugs? They're just starting to encroach in the areas of the house that aren't used anymore.
