Well, that's a bit of awesome...
Awhile back, I saw a picture of a craft project that I wanted to know how to do. Possibly not do exactly, but at least find out what techniques were used, etc.

It was in a magazine...in three parts... in Australia... in 2013. Oh, dreck.
Ok, so after a bit of looking- because there's nothing like looking if you want to find something- I found a copy of the first magazine on ebay. Listed as a private listing for someone else. So I messaged the seller and let her know that, if her person didn't want to buy it, I did... and because I am lucky, it worked out that I could. I also asked the seller if she had the other two issues and let her know which pattern I was trying to find. She didn't but promised she would keep her eyes open for me.
I didn't think anything would come of it... but late last night she messaged me on ebay and said she had gotten me copies of the other two parts. Apparently, she had contacted Maureen Tarnok who sold her copies of the pages in question... for me. Now that's some over and above customer service!
This is really good news for me since I have been unable to find the magazines- I even contacted the publisher and they told me they were sold out- try ebay.
I really want to know some of the techniques to use for my tea cosy... but I may eventually have to make the entire pattern just because it's totally cool.
And some more awesome- I picked up Emily's herbs yesterday, some coffee for me (Black Cat is still on sale-yay!) and- because I am dead tired of everyone telling me I look old- some henna. This is a different brand and I think I picked too brilliant a red- but at least I don't have any white hair anymore! Not that I mind being ginger- I just like it to look natural and I think this will have to fade a bit.
I also started on the smaller strips that make the triangles for my border. I sewed one and measured it and it was 1/32" too wide. ??? I must have made a small mistake... so I sewed a second one and it was 1/32" too wide as well. So I checked the math. Three strips cut 1 3/32" sewn together with 1/4" seams creates a panel 2 9/32" wide... and the book was telling me 2 1/4". Look, man, if you're going to ask me to cut to 1/32" precision, then your measurements should be that precise. The only mistake I made was thinking that the book was doing good math.
