Bobby Keys 1943-2014
This photo was taken just a few months ago. I wasn't going to post here again, but Bobby well...
He did so much more than just The Stones, I mean Buddy Holly, Elvis (uncredited on 'Return to Sender', Dion ('The Wanderer') John Lennon (Whatever gets you thru the Night), George Harrison (All Things Must Pass album) and on and on....What a great honour being backstage with the man earlier this year. Had a good talk and got him to sign All Things Must Pass, 'Warren Zevon', and of course some Stones stuff.. Great getting to tell him how much i liked Warren and in particular how I loved this song and his work on it..
Strangest thing about today though was randomly bumping into the old English Muso that me and a mate had talked to randomly after Bobby at a bar. Hadn't seen him since, and had to break the news to him..Very strange, but kind of fitting..Drowned our sorrows and had a drink or two for Bobby...
