annoyingly awesome

Full-on holiday mood, lazing around at home, playing the computer 24/7... sounds like heaven, doesn't it? Psh well, it gets boring after awhile. Hence, yours truly is now looking for a job!

I think I'll apply to Ikea :D one of my favourite places on earth! Was thinking of starbucks, but I googled a lil' and what I read about the pay was kind of meh-inducing. My dream job would be at Ben & Jerry's: discounted ice-cream, free aircon AND I'll get so sick of ice-cream I won't eat it as often and I'll lose weight! (the last point is hight doubtful though. I don't think I'll ever get sick of B&J's ice-cream)

The elder bother refuses to help me with my job search even though he's probably worked at all the possible shops/cafes in Singapore (alright, I'm exaggerating. Last time I heard he went to Fish & Co. and Page One).

Oh well. If I don't find any jobs I'll just go work at the Pop's office~

Watched Gokusen the Movie (yes that's the title why would I lie to you? *scandalised*) with Tracy last Saturday. It's so good to finally catch up with my primary school bff. Ahh, the young, sweet innocent times (yeah right). Both of us didn't really watch the previous 3 seasons of Gokusen, but we managed since the basic formula of every episode probably didn't change: Yakuza teacher meets gangsteriffic class, students jeer at her nerdiness and ignore her, gangster students get into trouble, teacher stands by her students/ saves her students, students touched, students come round to her awesomeness and grow to respect her.

And the story rolls on~

I liked the movie and I LIKED OGURI SHUN'S CAMEO. YAYYYY. Oguri Shun was waaaaaay back from the first season, like SEVEN years ago XD You don't really have to watch every single episode of Gokusen 1-3 to understand the movie; although I guess watching the movie would be more sentimental to hardcore fans of Gokusen. You'd recognise every single previous rebel student that made a cameo.

And well, even if you aren't interested in the plot (I quite liked the whole development though), you can ogle the pretty boys. Not that I did, of course. Who, me?! I don't ogle Gokusen's pretty boys, I only admire their whacktastic hairstyles and the occasional good physique! Lots of the Gokusen boys are lanky, skinny, etc etc with the exception of Hayami Mokomichi (ZETTAI KARESHI'S ROBOT) so...

But srsly: the Gokusen hairstyles ARE AWESOME. I have no idea how the hairstylists manage to find different hairstyles for each boy. But the best hairstyle, by far, is:

Tamamori Yuta, who plays the resident rebel in the movie

The curls at the back are a little iffy in the picture but in the movie it fits on him. AND HIS FRINGE. Now THAT is a cause for celebration (drama tendencies coming out here). It's shaped awesomely around his eye! Dunno, but I really like that. The long strand at his nose is pretty kewl too. Due to my inadequacies in pointing out how exactly is the fringe awesome, I shall just leave the pic here. Tamamori Yuta looks pretty little-boy-ish here, but his acting is pretty good and he doesn't seem out of place in Gokusen, which has nothing to do with little boys.

I want to go to Japan and get a crazy haircut and stay there forever, whoooo. Not that I don't love Singapore. Anyone who has that hairstyle here will definitely be considered a gangster. I know, individuality ftw, but still.

Not to mention, Japan's pretty school uniforms! I'm meh about the miniskirts (I wish I had SooYoung-ish legs but I don't), but that can be adjusted and the overall effect of both the boys and girls' uniforms are au sm!

oguri shun, pretty boys, gokusen, job-hunting
