Thank you Savoie for showing me winters beauty, the daily changing peaks , the icy landscapes and thank you for showing me the warmth which appearantly does not degrade as tempertures drop.
Before, I was convinced of the 'freezing cold', which is a lie. Minus 0 means freezing, but freezing doesn't mean cold. Today I worked on a 3000m altitude, sure, it was freezing, but it wasn't cold at all. I was working in a dress and a pair of jeans, and I got a slight sunburn on my chest. The color of my facial skin is darker than my hair which looks plain silly. I hope the tan comes off quickly, I hate this spray-on-tan look. This is beyond natural or healthy, I guess even sunscreen factor 50 isn't made to prevent such a decolorization over a few months time span in the mountains.
Today I was suffering from la Flem, hung out with the pisteurs, drank some glasses and we took silly photos. My neighbour, Bertrand-Guillaume was there, it's silly, we get along fine and we only see eachother on the slopes and platforms, while working. He lives right above my appartment. No real accidents happened Today, B-G only had to rescue one broken anckle, we had plenty time to goof around. I took some group pictures of the pisteurs in front of the Mont Pourri (Rotten Mountain... What's in a name..), the other side of the platform has an awesome view on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc, so we did some silly poses on a little bump.
Wicked! B-G proposed to get me down on one of those inflatable brancards (bananas) one of these days!
I've been rather curious about that, actually, but since I don't want to get hurt while skiing - nor in general - it's not very likely for me to go down like that.
It's rather impressive, when I take a red slope, I go down zigzagging r e a l l y slowly, and I take HUGE S-turns. And those guys speed down the mountains while carrying victims on even worse slopes.
Those guys used to be the kids who were put on skis at the age of 2 or 3, the locals.
Tired, had a goodbye party of a mate who finished his season.
