(no subject)
For some odd strike of luck I have had no problem finding employment this summer. I had three job offers when I got to portland. I had to decide between CYO(coordinating and helping to plan thier day camps), and OHS (full time paid internship), and Urban Fauna(full time at dog daycare where I worked senior year). I chose OHS, and have to tell CYO soon that they need to be looking for someone else. I would have loved the CYO job as well, but I would have spent so much in gas money, as I would have been driving out to beaverton each day and all around portland(SE, NE, and SW). It would have be crazy. I feel flattered that they specifically offered me the job though, and really felt that it was a role that I would have done well in. Carol called me as soon as she got the money approved by OHS, and practically gave the job to me, but I had to wait and see where things went when I got home. Urban Fauna wanted me back full time, and they have been a great place to work for. I went there to get more dog food for Prophet and as soon as I walked in the door, she said "you're hired". I told her that I already had accepted OHS's offer cause she had not gotten back to me, and she said that part time would be ok as well. So, I found the part time job that I needed without even trying- its great. She even wanted me to start tonight, so it looks like I have 9-7 each day M-F(9-4:30 @OHS, 5-9@ UF), and some hours on Saturday and Sunday at UF. I'm realluy happy that this worked out, just as I was about to hand in my application to starbucks, safeway, and Fred Meyers. I get to work with kids and dogs this summer!The best part is that Suzanne is perfectly ok about adjusting hours and all that. Other than that I've been hanging out and got a lot of stuff done. I saw more SMA girls in the past three days than over christmas break! Sam, Meg, and I were at my house and did a lot of random stuff. I saw Nellie when we went to the starlight parade the next night. There we ran into a guy who went to All Saints, and recognized me at the Back Space, it was really creepy. Just weird- it was all the way back in the day in Elementary School..
Yeah,......I'm stopping in to see some old teachers and be a pest and ask them about teaching stuff at All Saints.It should prove to be interesting. It'll be good to see them all again. Then I need to get some other errands done before I go to work. Things have been busy. OHS does not start heavy duty until next week apparently. I'll just keep on working on that paper and hopefully get it done by the 16th.
