So Jimmy was your average 16 year old teenager, who was having a tough time getting through highschool. He's always been kinda shy, but had friends. He's always been a quiet boy that kept to himself, but he still lived a normal life with normal friends. Jimmy kinda was sad when his grandparents died, because he was really close to them. He decided to go to a counsellor to help cope with their deaths, who then in time made him go to a psychiatrist too. Jimmy didnt think he needed it, he wasnt a psycho..he was just sad because school always bogged him down and his grandparents died. The doctor then said that he was depressed, and that he must take antidepressants. Jimmy was young, so he thought that doctors were always right no matter what. So he began to take these pills, and he started to feel better. Jimmy became happier again, and every time he took these magic pills...everything in the world became happy. He didnt really know how to feel sadness anymore, its like that feeling just disappeared. Everything was surreal; It dulled his emotions, made him into this fake person....that was always happy. He was blinded by everything, and thought that taking more of these pills will make him feel even better. So he went back to his doctor, and said "no i dont think i'm happy enough yet, i'm depressed still." So the doctor gave him more, and sent him on his way. Jimmy enjoyed taking these pills, they gave him this awesome feeling, and not even terrible things would alter his state of mind.
Years passed and Jimmy was still taking these pills. He was scared to come back to the real world, scared to "feel" emotion. He didnt wanna have to feel sadness again. He then came to the sudden realisation that not being able to have emotion wasnt human. He was 19, and addicted to them. He began to believe that the doctor was wrong all along. Jimmy wasnt depressed, he was just being human. Why would the doctor do that to a vulnerable teenager? Why would he make him think he was depressed when he was normal? Jimmy then stopped taking these pills and vowed not to be "high" any longer. People get mad at people that are addicted to drugs, but are prescription drugs not addictive drugs too? Until this day Jimmy wonders about that experience, its still always there in his mind.........
Jimmy was me.....
The End.
