Goodbye Netflix
Today is a sad day. After much consideration and nearly 7 years of loyalty, I have finally said goodbye to my NETFLIX account. I really liked the service when I had it. But, when they decided to raise the prices recently and split their services, it suddenly became more trouble than it was worth.
For what they wanted as a base rate for DVD's (which I don't watch frequently anyway), I could easily go down to Blockbuster to get. For what they wanted to charge for the Instant Viewing, I could go somewhere else online to get.
What made me choose the service in the beginning was that I could find obscure foreign movies, but what I liked most about it was that it was one of the few service where I could get both DVD's and Online Viewing.
Well, I suppose in the end, this whole debacle will be good for Blockbuster's business. As long as they continue their deals, I figure they can pull themselves out of red and take advantage of Neflix's bad choices. I know for certain they're going to be getting more of my $$$.
