Feathers! Also, sort-of wedding - eeep!

Jul 05, 2014 19:13

So after my feathers being pale steel grey for our wedding, then dreadlocked, then made deeeeep blue, then unraveled and finally stripped of colour (again), I thought I'd try for white (yet again).

As usual, my feathers have other ideas. I've bleached them twice and put white toner on them. Result? They look palest platinum blonde, but they don't look white. *sigh*

I think I'm gonna have to bleach them again and hope they don't turn into plastic straw.... then hit them with the pokey violet/whitening colour of doooooom.

Goddamit - why is silver/white so hard to achieve? Give it another ten years and no doubt I'll be there naturally - since I'm already at silverfox, the stress being very much on the silver...

This is a very frivolous post. But I'm determined to write some meekle posts in between my constant bitching... My life isn't awful. It can be stressful at times and is certainly very tiring, but I've been in far worse places with far more draining/horrible chores to do.

A lot of what is going on now is gearing up to Grandfather Wolf and Grandmother Sparrow's secret wedding (diamond?) anniversary of doom. They're coming to Hawai'i, and all their children have said 'Oh, we just want meekle photos - family photos - you have to dress up!' And then on the quiet have been coordinating pale linen trousers, tan sandals and deep blue Hawai'ian shirts or linen dresses so everything matches for the secret ceremony.

My present to them will be buying silk fans for all the guests and then drawing magical/runic/random/Polynesian/tikki sigils all over them in gold and silver pen, saying things like 'luck' or 'strength', 'health' or 'love' or any other meekle thing I can think of.

Grandparents are both Christian as far as it goes, but they're fond of me and don't mind my witchyness - or as Grandfather Wolf put it in his speech at our wedding, "Strange though it may be, I thank God for bringing this Witch into our lives!"

pele's home, meekle
