Gremlins and Shamblies.

Jan 24, 2012 13:35

Yesterday the boiler behaved as if it had a gremlin inside it which was trying to get out with a sledge hammer. Seriously - the metal casing was buckling. So we turned the boiler off in the hope of stopping an immanent gremlin/boiler explosion. The Oast is a little bit cold today. My room is 13 degrees.

There's a review of a RPG book I illustrated ('Tough Justice') where the reviewer claims my pictures are 'Stark line art of people in period costume made creeeeeepy by their lack of irises and pupils. It's like pictures of well dressed cosplaying zombies who I think should be executed on general principle...'

Heeeheeeheeeheee! I don't care if that's meant to be bad review - that's hilarious!

(Although I would like to correct the reviewer on a minor point - they do have irises, they just don't have pupils and it wasn't done to make them look undead it was done because they looked a damn mess *with* pupils. Aaaaanyway.)

Also today I've been offered two unexpected commissions. Which is both cool and irritating as I don't think I can take either of them. (Yes, I have learnt my lesson about too many projects: too many projects makes Raven stab her hands so she can't hold a pen for a week.) I have 17 A4 Aubrey Beardsley things to draw, which will be keeping me busy for a while. (Still not quite sure what an Art Nouveau spaceship looks like, but I'm assuming one neuron somewhere will have an idea.)

The Oastian world is soggy.
And peaceful as my father is in London today and I'm pretending phones don't exist.
Lalala.

creative, oast
