My coat now has sleeves.
Most of today was adjusting the shoulders and the sleeves. This took forever. (It's less a process of creation, more a constant process of problem-fixing.) I then started thinking abut pockets and collar... The collar is uncomplicated so long as I work out the right height. The pockets make me cry. The only place for (horizontal) pockets to be is on the skirt/waist line, otherwise it looks messy. But that would mean a panel of the skirt wasn't properly attached. Unless I did something very clever with over-long bodice seams.... Hmm. Wah. If I'm not spectacularly clever I shall have to have just pocket flaps and no pockets =(
Here isn't really what my coat looks like currently. This photo is so bad it makes the whole thing appear like a giant fish-skin tacked with pins - instead of an elegantly brooding mass of coat that looks like it wants to get up and dance. Which it really does - I keep expecting it to move when I'm not looking.
Tomorrow I shall do the lining and will also attach the skirts instead of just draping and pinning them.
I think I might be a little bit in love with my coat...
