Hum, I think I have thunk further. It is a nasty awkward situation to be in, and there may well not be a Miss Manners way around things.
Ideally IMO there should be discussion prior to any guests staying overnight, whether sex is involved or not. Permission should be sought regarding leaving the guest in situ for the day when the invitee is out.
Being hopelessly balanced about both sides it seems that one person sees the relationship as over therefore the former couple are just housemates and a housemate doesn't have a say in the bedroom or such guests and sees only potential awkwardness in introductions (or the visitor feels awkward about being introduced to the ex). The other person (as you present) feels that they are not just housemates but ex-partners and thus deserves more consideration than a mere additional body.
I would like to ignore it if it happend to me (assuming I was in the place of the viewing Ex rather than the shagger) thinking that in a couple of weeks it would all be along long way away. I might however slam doors and have a rather chilly conversation about good manners.
