Today I designed a pattern for and sewed a kimono.
It's shaped and fitted (and in that respect utterly unlike a kimono) and made out of silvergrey cheap-pretend-silk. (Oh to be able to afford five meters of brocade!)
Next comes the impossible bit: the Egyptian motifs all over it. Joined reeds and lotus flowers at the hem, jewelled collar at the neck and feathered 'Horus' wings over the sleeves.
I am going to have to cut all the many little shapes I need out of material, hem them and sew them onto the kimono.
*Makes strangulated death noises*
It's gonna take so bloody long! =(
