Through these past few days, I've experienced support like I haven't felt since I left Jehovah's Witnesses. People have come out of the woodwork to let me know they're here and they give a shit.
I was always told that I'd never find such a community again, that "out there", no one gives a damn because the world is a cruel place.
And it is, no doubt. I've met some real jerks. But they're not really any different from the jerks I met as a Witness. Once again, we find that people are just people.
