What's new in ankles

I was replying to Davesbrain and realized I was blathering on so much, I might as well make a new post. So, here it is.

I've got what they call an aircast. It's like a gigantic plastic mukluk without the fur and with less fashion sense. I have to strap my foot into it all day, but I can take it off for showers and bedtime. I'm not supposed to walk without it on as it will rip the bone fragment off again and it will never heal. I did have crutches, but I was such a spazz with them, I gave them back. And they are no help at all with stairs.

It basically feels like walking around with a concrete boot on my foot, so it aches and it's really tiring. The 3 flights of stairs are killing me. Stupidly, it hardly hurts at all to hobble without the boot on and it's sooo tempting to just ignore all this. But I've got 6 weeks of this nonsense to get through, so I'd better get used to it. And, of course, it's my *right* foot, so no driving!

GMajor's got to be in Toronto all day Friday and most of Saturday, so Mom's coming to help out for the day with some dogwalking and such, although my neighbours have been great and helpful with it all.

I just paid someone to do my gardening. I thought it would be about $40 or so. It was $75! So I'd better get better soon.
