Some hints from Twitter from David Hewlett:

dhewlett: Day one on my latest primate movie ;-) Currently holding the key to a great performance: coffee and the ubiquitous breakfast burrito!

Well, that's enough data. I toodled on over to the British Columbia film commission website to see what was being filmed in Vancouver - http://www.bcfilmcommissionRead more... )

It sounds like it's the sequel to (newer) Planet of the Apes, so they're probably throwing lots of money at it:

Yay for DH!

Yup. I was never much a fan of the movies (first one was good and then, well, as usual, went downhill) but I'll check it out for David :)

I wasn't a fan either, but i'm glad he's getting roles in major films. So underappreciated!

Yeah, I'd worked out the same from details on several sites.

We're such sleuths. Did David think he'd fool us? ;)

I think its supposed to be a prequel--kind of how the apes got to be intelligent and of course before they took over.

Go David!!

Yeah, that's what I thought too. It's a prequel, right? I wonder if he got the part b/c they saw him in Splice.

My computer is broken or I would have worked it out myself. 8^) Good for you! I know I should just wait for you to figure these things out.

I already knew they were making a new Planet of the Apes movie, I just needed to confirm it was being shot in Vancouver when I saw David's tweet.
