This is my favorite line: ...[Daniel's fingers] have slid inside Jack’s mouth where the rough pads could catch a little against Jack’s tongue. because it's tactile and specific and I can feel that sensation so familiarly even though I don't know that I've ever lived it. So, guh, because that might have been the. sexiest. line. for me in the whole fic! ... though, the sex was quite *guh* too.

I am totally happy to take responsibility there. It's the thing I'm learning to do with my writing right now. I blame rydra_wong for being the beta who always seems to be teaching me something, and resonant8 for that series of How To Write A Sex Scene essays.

But seriously, though, touching is familiar. The trick is to make it unfamiliar and shocking and exciting, and to do it with relevant details that take someone right into the moment, into the senses, into what they are breathing and smelling and tasting and feeling and wanting. If all the sex in this had been boiled down to just the once sentance with Daniel's fingers in Jack's mouth, I would still love it. LOVE. *loves*
