The Party
It was great! or so I'm told. I had lots of help and still I was running around like a cracked out headless chicken. But why am I telling you guys? Every single one of you that reads this tripe I write was there. Gotta tell you though kids, I won't be hosting anything for a good long while.
Evan said something interesting, "So much has happened over the last year solely because you held a party. I wonder what the ripple effect will be this time."
To which I responded, "Don't lay that shit on me."
Heh.
Stuff I had to deal with so far:
Parking everyone. It would have been easier if the ground was dry, could have put everyone in the yard. Instead I was running up and down a bunch of hills so much I was sore the next day.
Mixing friends. Not actually as bad as I thought. You guys especially were fantastic. With no coaxing whatsoever you ... you ... mingled!
My brother-in-law. I had no idea he liked to touch other men's genitalia so damn much. Also he was very concerned with J.D. not having a good time. His realm of experience with the socially awkward is extremely limited.
Broken glass. Not good in a driveway and a garage. I can't really complain because I broke at least two bottles myself. In my defense at least one was broken in my mad dash to stop ....
The lawn catching on fire. Brendan is a very sweet guy, with the best of intentions, but very little sense. He spilled the gas and when it caught he tried to stamp it out, catching fire to his foot.
The unquestionably reprehensible behavior of one person in regards to another's feelings
All in all it could've been worse. Nobody was hurt. Everyone got home safely (days later in one case). As I said I had a great deal of help. My mother and my girlfriend are two very amazing women. Eoghann traveled a very long way to clean my damn house. Thank you. It was amazing to see all of you with all the other special people in my life. When I slowed down it gave me such an astounding feeling everything else faded to background.
