The Complete Soundtrack! (or close)

Oct 18, 2008 12:03

Here it is. The (possibly) complete World Refugees soundtrack, including the songs for the end which I've been waiting to add for months. ^_~

Of course, this is just my version of the "official" WR soundtrack. You're welcome to insert or change songs if you prefer something else. And hey, if there are other songs you think work better, mention them here. I might agree.

If I haven't included a sample of lyrics, it means the whole song or a large section of it works wonderfully and you should google the lyrics if you don't already know them.

Also, I've divided it into three parts instead of two because the second part was almost exactly twice as long as the first. The second divide is at the heart-trade, which conveniently enough was right in the middle.

World Refugees I

"Walls" by Ryuu (this is a short fanfic which Ryuu wrote and recorded. I'll leave it up to her to share if she likes)
- The one who began it all

"Hikari" (the instrumental rock version used in Chase's trailer)
- Opening song

"Whisper" by Evanescence
- The Heartless invasion
'Don't turn away,
Don't give in to the pain,
Don't try to hide,
Though they're screaming your name,
Don't close your eyes,
God knows what lies behind them,
Don't turn out the light,
Never sleep never die.'

"It's The End Of The World As We Know It" by REM
- Earth goes bye-bye (our first theme song. We we quoting it at the beginning)

"Somewhere Out There" by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram (from American Tale)
- The first night as Refugees, scattered across the universe
'It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky'

"More Than This" by Peter Gabriel
- Refugees begin to accept the change in their lives, and wonder what else is out there
'So much more than this,
There is something else there,
When all that you had has all gone,
And more than this,
I stand,
Feeling so connected,
And I'm all there,
Right next to you.'

"Across The Universe" by The Beatles
- Refugees find their places on worlds across the universe, or choose to wander

"Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce
- Heartless killing... Gummi ship flying... Surviving. It's Serious Business
'So far away we wait for the day,
For the light source so wasted and gone...'

"Burn" by Alkaline Trio
- The mages lose control of their magic (okay, yes, it's Ryuu-centric)
'Intending to burn, pretending to fight it,
Everyone learns faster on fire,
Things took a turn, lost all desire,
You live and you burn...'

"Tears of the Dragon" by Bruce Dickinson
- Songbird admits to being a Nobody
'There were secrets in my mind,
'There were things I should have said,
'In the darkness, I was stumbling for the door...'

"Rhythm of the Night" by Debarge
- The Masquerade
'The music’s playing, a celebration’s starting,
Under the street lights the scene is being set,
'A night for romance, a night you won't forget.'

"Marrakesh Night Market" by Loreena McKennit
- Xemnas reveals himself
'Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood.
You can look at yourself,
You can look at each other,
Or you can look at the face, the face of your god.'

"Without A Fight" by Hoobastank
- Brave (foolhardy?) Refugees stand up to Xemnas

- Mabry will give anything to find her fiancee
'Here I go, scream my lungs out and try to get to you,
You are my only one.'

"Helena" by My Chemical Romance
- For all who fell to Darkness
'Came a time
When every star fall brought you to tears again,
We are the very hurt you sold,
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break...'

"Shut Up And Smile" by Bowling for Soup
- Demyx is deceptively adoribals
'All we needs a harmony and we’ll convince the world to sing,
Throw your arms around someone,
maybe spread a little love,
I know it sounds a little dumb (or maybe I’m a little drunk),
But all we need is some ice cream and a hug!'

"Creeps Me Out" by Ima Robot
- Axel to fangirls

"Julian" by Within Temptation
- Xemnas' theme
'I've been dreaming for so long,
to find a meaning to understand.
The secret of life,
why am I here to try again?
Will I always, will you always
see the truth when it stares you in the face?
Will I ever, will I never free myself
by breaking these chains?'

"Home" by Michael Buble
- Theme of Josiah, the unknown Refugee
'Another winter day
Has come and gone away,
In even Paris and Rome,
And I wanna go home,
And I’m surrounded by,
A million people, I
Still feel all alone,'

"This Is Where I Belong" by Bryan Adams
- For those who returned to Earth

"Key of the Twilight" from .HackSign
- A general World Refugees theme
'Come with me in the twilight of a summer night for awhile,
Tell me of a story never ever told in the past,
Take me back to the land
Where my yearnings were born,
The key to open the door is in your hand,
Now fly me there.'

Just be strong for me and rest assured one day we will win!'

'No one's gonna take me alive,
The time has come to make things right,
You and I must fight for our rights,
You and I must fight to survive!'

"Devastation and Reform" by Reliant K
- In becoming Organization member XV, Brixon (Songbird) has sacrificed all that she once stood for. Where once she was determined to protect the Refugees, now she has been ordered to murder them.
'I feel like I was born,
For devastation and reform,
I'll destroy everything I love, And the worst part is,
I'll pull my heart out, reconstruct,
But in the end its nothing but,
A shell of what I had when I first started.'

"Lion" by Rebecca St. James
- Ryune's resurrection
(the song is about Aslan)

"We Are The Champions" by Queen

The sweet fulfillment of,

They burned our courage many died,
Had to leave it all behind rebuild our lives,

Shields and armor shining bright,
Strike like dragons Have no fear,
Swords are made of steel.'

World Refugees II - part 2

"Try Walking In My Shoes" by Depeche Mode
- Ryune loans Xemnas her heart so that they can both experience the other's life

"Disturbia" by Rhihanna
- Uneryx' theme
(I don't know which piece of the lyrics is most appropriate. It seems to me that the sound of the song is most important)

That I should rise and you should not,
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call,
Good night and joy be with you all.'

"Shine" from Hellsing
- Ryuu and Eric

"My Medea" by Vienna Teng
- Xemnas destroys Songbird
'So come to me my love,

For it's my thoughts that bind me here,
It's this love that I most fear...'

"Burn Out Bright" by Switchfoot

- A counterpoint to our original theme song, as Nothing consumes our world.

"End of All Hope" by Nightwish
-The final battle

"The Call" by Regina Spektor

"If We Hold On Together" by Diana Ross
- There are no happy endings, because for those who are still alive and happy, the story does not end.
(again, it was written for the part. Google it. Youtube it. It's beautiful)

*BONUS TRACK*
"You Can't Stop The Beat" from Hairspray
- Final Refugee theme
(the lyrics are great! There's even a line for Song and Orpheus! )
