It's hard to remember the internet without my favorite Firefox extensions, but I've never actually done anything to customize the companion mail program, Thunderbird.
That may have to change. From the description,
attachment reminder:
"...scans your outgoing email when you click the send button and checks it for the presence of user-defined keywords that signal that an attachment should be included."
I can't even describe how many times I've made this mistake. Apparently, I'm not the only one, as there's at least two extensions to address this problem. :)
Since I trade documents back and forth via email frequently, often with small edits,
this also looks tempting- it's very annoying to lose the changes made to a temporary file. Unfortunately, the extension seems to be a bit out of date- will have to see if I can make it work with the newer version of Thunderbird...

In other news, our most excellent postdoc joined me in a solemn vow not to spend the entire day refreshing the "Politics" section of every major newspaper. So although I'm still quite intrigued by what this VP pick is going to mean for the election ahead, I did actually get some work done today. Just a few more days until the new students come!
