Happy Wii-Day!
Wooo! I almost have a Wii! "almost?!?" I hear you say, "how the hell do you almost have something that you didn't pre-order?" Well my curious friends, allow me to explain. Last night I was all about going and camping out, only just not alone. I tried to convince people that it would be a good time, but everyone declined. I cannot blame them, I'm the only one ga-ga for the wii. Around 7pm I called all the area walmarts just to verify that their lines already exceeded their supplies, which they did. So I stay up til midnight hoping to find a deal (even if bundled) online. No dice. I set my alarm for 4 am, thinking to go get in line then, and then decide against it. I like sleep what can I say.
Well, apparently I really want a Wii, because of my own volition I woke up at 5, and decided to go check out the lines and see if I have a chance to possibly score one. First on the strip is Best Buy, and the line is around the corner, no joy there. Next, Toys R Us, it looks promising, but the employees I spoke to on Friday said they were only guaranteed to get the number of units that they were allowed to pre-order. They don't even open until 11, so time to move down the road, but keep it in mind as a fall back. K-mart has a short line, but the vouchers were already given out. Both of them. Yeah, that's right, our Kmart got exactly TWO Wiis. Talk about not caring about the retail market anymore. So onto Target. The line is healthy, but I think there is a possibility that I may get a Wii there, but I want to go check out Circuit City first. I got to the City, and was #9 in line. Sweet. Not sweet was the posted sign saying their shipment was shorted. I debated for a second if I wanted to take my chances elsewhere, but in the end decide that a guaranteed Wii on Tuesday is better than trying to search the city for a Wii store with supply left.
So that is how I almost have a Wii. I have a voucher that I must not lose for two days, and then I will have a Wii waiting for me. In the end, it is probably for the best that I won't get it until Tuesday, because otherwise it would be really hard to go to class, and I really should go to class.
