A hole in my (Star Trek) memory...

Y'know it occured to me on Friday that I've never seen the fourth and apparently somewhat improved final series of Enterprise. I intend to rectify that as soon as possible. I had mixed feelings about Enterprise. I liked the ship, and the uniforms and the comparatively low-tech. I loved the Andorians. The crew were a bit insipid - even the usually ( Read more... )

I've heard that under the command of Manny Coto, the fourth series picked up a bit, so whilst I'm not expecting miracles, I'm willing to give it a go, if only for the sake of completion.

I've long been a champion for the show's fourth season. It's a bit infuriating though, as it shows just how much better the show could have been from the beginning if the Powers That Be had given a damn. Ignore the first two episodes of the season; Coto really had little to do with them and they frankly are only worthwhile for the wrap up to the Temporal Cold War storyline. From there on the quality noticeably improves and a lot of old Trek 'friends' pop up.

Whatever you do, though, skip the last episode. Not only is it literally not an Enteprise episode, it's a horrid piece of writing that offended nearly everyone associated with the series. When you have members of the cast telling people they don't want to watch a given episode, you know something went wrong....

Yeah, I'm aware of the whole 'holodeck' travesty. I'll probably watch it, if only to see just how bad it is :)

I actually enjoyed the first episode - I saw it last night - I'm glad they're wrapping up the whole temporal cold war story. I really didn't like that atall.
