Oddly enough I'm not sure now, if I'd have been too bothered if McCain had won. Sure, I've no love for Republicans but from what I'd seen of him, I was beginning to really like the guy.
I'm really interested now to see what Obama does. I just hope that folk aren't too dissapointed that he's not the second coming just because he's partly black.
I'm sharply reminded of the Blair victory in the 90's. For an all too brief period it was cool to be British again. The country felt invigorated after over a decade of Tory drudgery - and then everything quickly stayed the same.
