catching up...

I watched Stardust the other night and very much enjoyed it. The ending was somewhat protracted and could have done with some judicious script-editing but it was highly enjoyable. Not the Princess Bride by any means but definately cut from the same cloth.

I've been immensely enjoying the fourth series of Doctor WHO which is now drawing to a close. I believe Catherine Tait is not staying on after the end of this series which is a shame as I think Donna's my favourite companion to date.

Battlestar Galactica and Heroes on the other hand are starting to drag. BSG continues to be intriguing and dark but I've gotten to the point now where I just want them to reveal the Final Five, find Earth and just bloody get it over with. Heroes seems to be going nowhere inparticular and it's taking it's sweet time getting there too. I think if the first series had had a big, epic, grand finale it could have just been left as a classic one-off. Sadly, after an excellent twisting, turning run it sort of dribbled to a halt and the second series just feels like a rehash of the first one which is a shame because it's a great idea and there are some nice ideas scattered amongst it. I'm not interested in Sylar or the two Mexicans he's travelling with. He should have stayed dead. The whole Hiro in ancient Japan thing is great but until last week's episode seemed to serve absolutely no purpose. Then Mr Bennet looking for the paintings just feels like a rehash of last year's storyline.

Oh well.

heroes, stardust, dr who, bsg
