Interesting. The US subbed version (the one with the default Cantonese track) uses the male lead ending- I *think*: there are scenes in both endings I don't recall- but certainly those vocals. I'm at once delighted that there are subtitles for the closing song, finally, and despairing because the font face is almost unreadable.
