Fic: A Bouquet of Ministers

Feb 26, 2008 00:28

This kind of doubles as a happy birthday greeting to rasetsunyo, though I hasten to say I had the idea before feliciter asked her what she'd like fic-wise as a present, and rasetsunyo answered.

Lovely. All three voices are very distinct.

They're polar opposites of each other, if one can have three poles. Or rather, I guess:
Wen Zhong: incorruptible and sane
Bo Pi: corruptible but sane
Wu Zi Xu: incorruptible but mad.

One may point out that Gou Jian *did* come back and conquer Wu just as WZX feared, but the question remains, would he have done it if he hadn't been so badly treated by the obsessed WZX?

As in Onmyouji (the movies, at least) where Seimei might never have bothered to get involved, if the villain had not gone to such lengths to _stop_ him getting involved?

Ah, perfect for the prompt. Especially Wen Zhong, the sensible and prudent man not. (although, Bo Pi and his old master ._.)

Odd, yanno: the only person who can take Bo Pi by surprise is Bo Pi. Happens with WZX, happens again when Prince You is killed and Bo Pi suddenly realizes his pawns/ second strings to bow/ hoped-to-be benefactors are *the enemy* who can hurt *him*. Man doesn't know himself at all, which is the one thing that makes me inclined to like him.

Oh, these are brilliant. Especially Wen Zhong.
