Hmph.

I was planning to take the Girls to the pool this afternoon once Maddie gets up from her nap.  But now the wind is picking up and thunder is rumbling ominously across the still fairly bright sky.   Our Y is super paranoid about electric storms and will close even the inside pools at the first hint of thunder so there goes my afternoon plans.  It's too hot and humid to go outside and even enjoy sitting on the deck while the kids play in our little splash pool.  This is why I hate the South, it's only stinkin' June and it's already too miserable to enjoy the outdoors.  Joe got up early to mow the lawn this morning and came inside at 8:30 soaked with sweat and only half way finished.  It sucks.

I'm really -really- terrible about drinking enough water.  Part of my slim-down plan includes actually drinking enough liquid in the day.  I checked a few places on line and, depending on the site, I'm supposed to be drinking between 3 and 3.7 liters of water a day.  I bought four 1 liter bottles of water at the store this morning while I was doing groceries and I'm going to try to drink them all every day, through out the day.  I've nearly finished 1 so far (I started at 1pm).  Hm.  Perhaps 1 liter of water in nearly 3 hours isn't all that great.  And the sad thing is that that's more water than I've been drinking in a whole day.  Oh well.  I'll get there.  Hopefully.  If I don't spend my whole life in the bathroom.  On the upside, I'm really hoping that actually consuming enough liquids will help my chapped lips and eczema get better ASAP.  Can't hurt, right?

The fireworks tents around town are starting to open up.  I like fireworks as much as the next guy but I really wish our neighbors didn't like them quite so much.  They must buy up $100 of little bottle rockets and poppers.  Then they'll set them off slowly for weeks.  Under normal circumstances a pop once every minute or two wouldn't be that terrible of a situation except that they seem to have figured out exactly how long it takes for Rascal (our dog) to calm down.   So they'll set one off  *POP* and Rascal goes crazy barking.  Just as he stops and settles down again they'll set off another one *POP* and so it repeats.  They'll do that for 15 or 20 minutes a night from the first night the fireworks tents open until about a week or two after they've closed.  It gets old really quick.

And on the subject of drinking liquids, I need to go pee.  Just what you wanted to know huh?
