Excuse me while I guilt myself
I decided to make nightgowns for the girls. Alta and Lilly tend to wear their nightgowns without panties, and really, I don't blame them. I don't like to wear underwear at night either. But I don't come out to the livingroom in the morning and sit all spread-eagled watching TV with my bits hanging out for all to see. Much to Joe's disapointment. ;-)
Being more than tired of months of telling them to pull down their pajamas and/or to go put on some panties I decided that I just need to make some really long nightgowns. Something closer to ankle length rather than the knee length we've got at the house now in the hopes that it would solve the problem.
All was going well on my project until I looked down at the instructions for how to attach the sleeve. I glanced up in time to see Maddie reaching for the iron. I yelled, "Maddie! No!" Just in the nick of too late.
She screamed and came running over to me. We jumpped up and ran her hand under cool water and eventually got her some ice to hold. A solid hour of increasingly hoarse crying later she calmed down.
She seems to be doing better now. Whether this is a bit of Lilly's pain tolerance (recall when she shattered her tooth four different ways and we didn't know for nearly 12 hours) or if it's the motrin but she's been pretty much her regular self for the last two or three hours.
Other than the second degree burns (blistering) on three of her little fingers anyway.
