There is one perk to living down here...
You may remember earlier this spring I was asking about companion plants to put with my lavender plants.
I wound up doing marigolds but my forgetful gardening style killed them. Whoops.
Well it doesn't matter much because the lavender has been loving our hot dry summer. It has filled out the entire bed; there's only about 4" between the front edge of the bed and the plants now.
After a 7 mile run this morning my feet were killing me. So naturally some of my lavender (which I've been meaning to prune for about a month) was used.
Just for reference, what is on the trunk is half of what I cut. And it all came from half of ONE of my four plants.
Clearly all of my long runs need to be followed up with a lavender foot bath.
