I was planning on taking Kelsi on a date this weekend, but she informed me that she was going out of town for a dance thingy. So I still wanted to take her on a date so I looked on the school's calendar to see what kind of things that were going on. I saw a thing called "Happy Factory." I clicked on it. Turns out that they get together and put together little wooden cars to send to orphanages and third world countries. I thought this sounded like a good deal of fun, plus I know how caring Kelsi is and how much she loves to help people. So we show up and were all sanding the wood and having a gay old time. But people kept asking us what class we were from, and we were just like oh we are here just to help out. Turns out almost EVERYONE(30-50 people roughly) was there either for a religion class or to do some volunteer work for a scholarship or because they were student body leadership. We met one other girl that was there for kicks. I dont say this to brag or anything, but I think that is kind of a sad thing. There are 13,000 students here and out of that only 50 show up for this thing, and none of them are even going out of the goodness of their hearts.
I don't know why this bothered me so much. But that is my story. Everyone do something to help someone out this Christmas season (and beyond). We will all be better for it.
