Hey folks,
I have a beloved - though slightly underplayed when faced with trying to live up to my mage's numbers in a raid environment - shadow priest who I am planning on playing a bit more just because I enjoy her.
I haven't been able to find a straight answer on this so hopefully one of the priests in this community can provide some input. It's regarding the talent solace and insanity. When you're casting mind flay following devouring plague, say you cast it just as devouring plague is about to run out. The channel then starts out with the insanity buff. Can you effectively cheese a few extra seconds out of the insanity bonus when the channel continues after the devouring plague has dropped? Or does the channel automatically adjust back to normal mind flay and therefore I'd be better off going to cast other high priority spells? I've been wondering this awhile because it seems odd that it would change mid-channel and the icon debuff on the target remains the insanity channel one.
Anyway, just curiosity/minor adjustment to rotation. I hope I explained my question properly.
Thanks!
