So, to give a little background, my main is a DPS (BM Hunter) while my boyfriend's is a Healer (Resto Shammy). For our Pandas, we decided to try new roles. He went Tank (Brewmaster) and has been doing his research before we even queued for low levels dungeons, since he has never tanked before. While I've healed a bit on my low level Horde Pally alt ( Read more... )

If it helps, I nearly always run as dps and I hate when other dps do that, too. Sometimes they're the ones who want to top the recount and they think waiting for the tank will cut into their precious (and essentially meaningless) score.

It's sad that bad dungeon runs are so common, we feel grateful for the few good ones. I wish it were the other way around!

It really is! I just don't understand it since I was taught you wait for the tank and the healer. Makes me more appreciative when on my Hunter, except for when I get bad tanks that don't want to wait for the healer.

While I was taught, it was by guildmates who gave me advice before I even jumped into pugs. Plus, I thought it was the courteous thing to do. XD

I guess I was just being extra cranky cause I wasn't feeling well. :-/

I did! (I'm in a different guild now, but they're still awesome. XD) I was a bit nervous too, but it was basically "let the tank get aggro, target what he's got, then kill it" and "be nice to the healer, they keep you alive!"

I've been told that. My guildies are all like "don't put up with that!" So just let the DPS do what the want, concentrate on getting us through, and if they get pissy, I tell them it's they're own fault. We had one druid yesterday in SFK that did it. One of the other DPS messaged me saying not to heal him cause of what he was doing. The druid said "help me" in chat, and I told him no, that if he was going to pull or go off on his own, he could deal with it and I wasn't going to heal him. He got mad and rage quit, after arguing with me and the Lock DPS. XD

I'm both excited and nervous to do LFR healing, mainly cause of what I've seen on my Hunter. People can be such raging jerks in there!

This is what I was taught too. Also, "Watch for runners and take them down if they're heading toward another pack of mobs." Nobody cares anymore, they just grab the next pack.

I still send my pet if I see a mob go after the healer - it's probably not necessary but it's reflex for me and I think it's courteous too.

Me too! People now a days just done seem to care about mechanics or anything else beyond getting their precious jp/gear/vp/etc.
