So, to give a little background, my main is a DPS (BM Hunter) while my boyfriend's is a Healer (Resto Shammy). For our Pandas, we decided to try new roles. He went Tank (Brewmaster) and has been doing his research before we even queued for low levels dungeons, since he has never tanked before. While I've healed a bit on my low level Horde Pally alt ( Read more... )

Yeah, him and I were talking about a Macro last night. He's thinking of being the one to do it, so I'll tell him about how you and your friend handle things. :) I will also tell him about putting a mark over his head. Thanks!

It was a lot of druids, and I know they can heal themselves, but it just got annoying.

Honestly, I get annoyed when I zone into a instance and get greeted with a macro like that. I currently play three different healers and I tanked for many years in BC and Wrath so I know where you are coming from, but please don't scold me until I've actually done something wrong.

We don't know that upon zoning in though and it's better to get it out there then to wait for people to screw up and start bitching that you're not healing them/getting aggro/what have you. Yeah, I could wait like I did last night with the druid and very calmly stat why I didn't heal them, but that gets tiring when it's happening over and over again.

Don't get me wrong, I can see both sides, but the lower levels are supposed to be for learning your class and group roles, not for running through everything as fast as you can and doing it at 90.

Ugh, this. I'm more likely to drop group than deal with people who do that because it makes you come off as a massive holier than thou douchebag to people who don't know you.

While this is true, I think if done right, it is beneficial.
