Resto druid healing in Battlegrounds

So, since my hordie troll drood just hit Outlands and is back at the "aaaargh no more HFP please please please" stage, I decided to try my hand at druid-healing in a battleground. I figured druids, with their insta-cast heals and shapeshift-runaway-runaway-runawaaaaaay and cat > prowl capability, would be more suited for battlegrounds than trying to heal on some other class, like God forbid a paladin.

In theory it seems like it ought to work out. But it's hard and stressful and baffling, even without the usual QQ-what's the point of trying to heal in a BG when it seems like half the enemy classes can instantly one-shot kill me over and over and over and spam /spit on my corpse even after I put them on ignore... ahem. I digress.

Can anyone suggest any addons, or general tips for healing in a BG? My biggest problem is trying to figure out how to get and keep people in range to heal. The built-in interface sort of does that, graying out people who are out of range, but it's awkward and very buggy. Several times in several different BGs last night it glitched out such that when I clicked on somebody's name it targeted someone completely different instead. A /console reloadui fixed that, but having to stop and do that in the middle of a BG is really bad.

How about mana? I seem to go OOM very fast and the only real solution is to die so I can rez at full mana. Strategies for the different maps? Are some games better for trying to heal than others? In AV it seemed like there were too many players for my heals to do any good, in WSG it seemed too few. Any recommended gear for the 60-69 bracket? Any tips for how to find BGs that Horde doesn't always lose all the time? Any tips to avoid instantly dying in a single shot? Any other BG healers have recs for how to find other healers and avoid doubling up heals redundantly?

Or just general BG healing stories? :D?
