So I have two accounts since on my primary account I have all ten slots full on my main server and I had the itch to roll a few alts a while back so I did the whole refer a friend thing to get my main a rocket mount and ten more character slots on my server to play with. Now I happen to have grown quite fond of four of these alts and I'm getting a little worried as come the first of December my secondary account will lapse and I likely wont be able to reactivate it for a while.
Now I don't want to lose any of the names I have saved on that account, of the four alts that I'm fond of one is twenty-four, one is sixteen, one is eleven and one is six, I also have a name saved on a level one toon that I would be loath to lose (I plan for it to be a worgan deathknight, either on this secondary account when I upgrade it to a cata account or if they really do lift the ten characters per realm and just keep it as a fifty character limit I'll make her on my primary account). Plus if I can think of a panda name before the account lapses I will likely save that as well.
So my question is does anyone know how long an account has to be inactive before they'll steal a name from me if someone petitions? Also does the fact that both accounts are linked to the same active battle net account protect my names even though the actual account the names are on are inactive? Does the level of the toons make a difference? Has anybody here ever had a name taken from them? What level was the toon etc...?
I know GMs are becoming a lot more accommodating when it comes to freeing up names, I know quite a few people who have gotten names released when they've petitioned because the account was inactive and it really has me worried. I'm contemplating posting on the forum or putting in a ticket to see if I can get a straight answer but I thought I'd come here first.
